Dele Momodu, a veteran publisher and politician has asserted that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is the only Nigerian politician capable of challenging President Bola Tinubu. He contended that no other politician, including Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s candidate in the 2023 presidential elections, possesses the ability to confront Tinubu effectively.
Momodu further suggested that Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, would ultimately be discarded by President Tinubu after serving his purpose. During a recent episode of The Honest Bunch podcast, Momodu remarked, “Atiku is currently the only individual unafraid of Tinubu. Others, including Mr. Peter Obi, who was previously supported by Atiku in 2019, cannot stand against him.
“I have no doubt that Wike will be utilized by the presidency and subsequently cast aside.” When asked about his lack of support for President Tinubu despite their past collaboration, Dele Momodu stated, “While he has assisted me in the past, I have also contributed significantly to his endeavors. He is indeed a kind and generous individual, but in politics, I cannot accept a situation where one’s word is absolute and unchallenged. Even the esteemed Baba Awolowo faced opposition.”
