Atiku visits El-Rufai, Says Tinubu’s Government a Full-Blown Dictatorship

Following the attack made on him two weeks ago during the inauguration of the ADC in Kaduna State, by APC-sponsored thugs , Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar paid a solidarity visit to the former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai,  in his Kaduna home on Saturday. Both Atiku and El-Rufai are key leaders of the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC) party.

The visit follows a similar earlier visit made by Atiku to the former minister of justice, Abubakar Malami, over the attack on his convoy in Birnin Kebbi, by alleged government sponsored thugs.

In his statement after the visit, Atiku said he paid a solidarity call on El-Rufai following a recent attack on him by thugs allegedly sponsored by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) during the inauguration of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kaduna.

The former vice president condemned the APC under President Bola Tinubu, describing the administration as the “greatest risk to democracy since the return of civilian rule,” and accusing it of having “turned into a full-blown dictatorship.”

Following the meeting, he said they have resolved to coordinate their efforts toward “rescuing Nigeria” and building a “viable alternative platform” in the form of the ADC.

In his statement while receiving the former vice president, El-Ruifai, warned that Nigeria is at the verge of a major threat as the 2027 election approaches, alerting that President Bola Tinubu may become president for life if Nigerians fail to unite and remove him in 2027.

El-Rufai said: “It’s a disgrace for people to behave the way they are behaving, it means all the years we were for democracy and NADECO was all fake, a pretense, all the claims we are fighting for, true federalism is all fake.

“This government is trying to centralize everything instead of devolving powers to the lower levels but the some total of this is that we are facing an evil of a large proportion in the history of this country that if we don’t come together to end this Tinubu administration in 2027, Tinubu will try to be our Paul Biya, he would be president for life, all the signs are there, this is how Paul Biya started.

“You are our leader and you have experience in democratic governance. When you and Obasanjo were in power, no man has been imprisoned because he had a different political reason, even Buhari with his military background never did that but here we are facing full fledge.”

“This is worse than any military regime we’ve ever had, your call that we must unite is a healthy one. I think the people of Nigerians have made up their mind that this government, APC must go,” he added.

Both Atiku and El-Rufai are not only the key drivers of the National Opposition Coalition Group, they are also the among the major proponents of the opposition ADC party that is preparing to battle the ruling APC in the 2027 polls.
