The National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and former governor of Osun State, Rauf Aregbesola, has pledged to reinstate responsible leadership and effective governance, criticizing the current administration for its failure to meet the needs of Nigerians in crucial sectors.
During a visit to the Ila/Ifedayo/Boluwaduro Federal Constituency in Osun State on Tuesday, Aregbesola expressed gratitude to the thousands of party loyalists, supporters, and members who welcomed him and the party leadership as part of the inauguration of ADC officials and structures throughout the nine federal constituencies in the state.
He condemned the policies of the current administration, stating, “This government has achieved an A1 in Politics but an F9 in Good Governance. Its policies have plunged thousands into the depths of poverty, hunger, and poor governance.
More than 76 percent of Nigeria’s 37,000 kilometers of federal roads are in disrepair, yet the government is concentrating on a coastal highway that will not enhance the nation’s economic conditions.”
Aregbesola further claimed that the administration has failed in critical areas such as security, the economy, and education—essential metrics for evaluating government effectiveness.
Reflecting on his accomplishments during his tenure as governor of Osun, Aregbesola noted that his administration provided meals for over 50,000 children, empowered more than 60,000 youths, and implemented welfare policies that significantly alleviated hunger.
“This is what we aim to restore when you cast your vote for us in 2026,” he emphasized, reaffirming the party’s dedication to the populace.
Aregbesola also mentioned that the ADC would persist in advocating for grassroots governance and broaden its outreach across all communities, cities, and villages within the Ila Federal Constituency, asserting that the party remains “the friends of the masses.”
