‘No Time To Waste’, Atiku Tells ADC Chairmen

Days after officially registering as a member of the party, Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar met on Monday, December 1, with the chairmen of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) from all 36 states and the FCT at his residence in Abuja.

The delegation, led by Kogi State ADC Chairman Ogga Kingsley, visited Atiku to formally welcome him into the party.

During the visit, Kingsley conveyed the chairmen’s delight in receiving him as a “bona fide member” of the ADC.

While speaking at the meeting, Atiku conveyed his excitement regarding his formal entry into the party and called for prompt action in what he referred to as a collective mission to rescue the nation.

He urged other members and leaders within the coalition to finalize their registration, emphasizing that no one could afford to “sit on the fence.”

Additionally, he praised the ADC’s state-level leadership for their dedication to the future of the country, highlighting their shared objective of creating a secure, united, and prosperous Nigeria.

In a post on his X handle on Tuesday, Atiku stated: “I am pleased to have officially registered and welcomed our state chairmen. I stressed that there is no time to lose in our rescue mission and encouraged other members and leaders of the coalition to formally register with the ADC. There can be no sitting on the fence.

“I am pleased to see that state-level leaders are thinking about the future of our country. Together, we are committed to working towards a secure, united, and prosperous Nigeria. The APC is bent on wrecking our country, and we are ready to stop them from doing so.”

Atiku articulated that he deemed it essential to exit from the PDP and affiliate with the ADC due to the present direction the PDP has adopted, which, in his view, strays from the core principles it was founded upon.

Earlier, on Friday, while in Jalingo, the capital of Taraba state, Atiku stated that the ADC is the sole political party capable of rescuing Nigeria from its existing economic and security challenges.

He made these remarks during the inauguration of the ADC’s Taraba State office in Jalingo, the state capital.

The former vice president noted that he and other politicians have experienced membership in the All Progressives Congress (APC), the PDP, and various other political parties, and have come to the realization that they lack the necessary attributes to extricate Nigeria from its current predicament.

Atiku further urged the residents of Taraba to participate actively and register for the ongoing continuous voter registration if they genuinely wish to liberate themselves from the prevailing economic and security difficulties facing the nation.

“I am in Taraba to inaugurate our new party office of the ADC, and I want you to hold the party with integrity.”

“Do not allow anybody to deceive you with any other party, because we have tasted other political parties and they brought nothing but insecurity, hunger, poverty, unemployment.”

“The youths and women should know that we are doing this for them to have a better future, and I am holding on to their promise.”

“ADC will win Taraba state, win Nigeria as the only reliable political party.” Atiku said.
