Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar convened a crucial closed-door meeting last night at the Abuja residence of Sir Chikwe Udensi, a distinguished ADC chieftain and security expert, alongside key South-East leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and other significant Igbo political figures.
The focus of the session was on establishing political collaboration, forming alliances, and strategizing for the party’s forthcoming presidential primary in anticipation of the 2027 general elections.
The assembly featured prominent persons, including Senator Augustine Akobundu, Chief Chekwas Okorie, former Minister of State for Education Emeka Nwajiuba, Dr. Osita Oruche, Prof. Onyi Nwagbara, Chief Uchenna Okogbuo, former ADC National Chairman Chief Ralph Nwosu, Hon. Uzoma Abonta, Hon. Uko Nkole, Etigwe Uwah (SAN), Dr. Steve Nwadiuko, Chief Morris Eboh, Senator Frank Ibezim, and Dr. Dave Eboh, among others.
Sources indicate that the discussions were centered on enhancing consensus in the South-East, positioning the ADC as a formidable national platform, and investigating broader coalitions in light of recent political realignments and defections to the party.
This meeting underscores Atiku’s ongoing efforts to garner support and consolidate influence within the ADC as preparations for the 2027 presidential race gain momentum.
